Good coffee can be found just about anywhere. When planning our trip to Texas, I was so excited to try so many new coffee shops in Texas. Here are 8 coffee shops that we went to that were absolutely delicious and that you CANNOT miss!
Magnolia Press. Waco, Texas
Drink: The 1905
It was a dream come true to get to visit Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas! I had been wanting to visit Magnolia Market for quite sometime and was so excited to finally have the opportunity to visit on our Texas Trip! Magnolia Press is a new addition to the Magnolia Market in Waco. It is an adorable coffee shop with the most aesthetically pleasing décor and vibes. It felt so fancy having my coffee here. The shop is filled with the most beautiful shade of green with hardwood and gold accents throughout. We sat on leather couches atop gorgeous woven rugs while drinking our delicious coffee. The indoor seating area isn’t huge, but had many seating options both indoors and outdoors. I got the iced 1905 which is their signature “house latte infused with toasted marshmallow and vanilla.” Let me tell you, this iced latte was delicious, completely superb. Their prices were reasonable especially considering the environment. They had several other signature drinks, pastries, and normal coffees as well. I would 100% come back here.
Weekend Coffee. Dallas, Texas
Weekend Coffee is located in downtown Dallas in the Joule Hotel. They have many drink options. I tried the normal cold brew with milk which was good as for how cold brews go. I love their vibe. Raw wood, neon pink lights, and art on the walls, it’s a very fun vibe. The location is ideal as it is in the Joule Hotel, which is right across from the Giant Eyeball Sculpture downtown. It is also not too far from the JFK historical sites in the city. Weekend Coffee is definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.
Johnson City Coffee Co. Johnson City, Texas
Drink: Kay’s Honey Pecan Latte Iced
We stopped here on our way driving through Johnson City to visit Hamilton Pool Preserve. This place was super cute. We went through the drive-thru because it was near their closing time, but the inside looked cute through the windows. The drinks we ordered were delicious. I got the iced Kay’s Honey Pecan Latte which is a latte with honey and pecan syrup. It was so good. The aesthetic here is beautiful and the workers were super kind and helpful to us. Their seating area seems large, with many tables outside under huge shade trees.
Kaffee Haus. Fredericksburg, Texas
This coffee shop is located on the main strip of the Fredericksburg, Texas. This coffee shop is very fashionable and was connected to a small clothing boutique. There was a lot of rustic chic décor and several seats to sit at. They had a large variety of drinks and pastries here. I got a cold brew which was good. We also tried their cookies which were tasty. The location of this coffee shop is fantastic as there are many shops nearby that you can stroll through while sipping on your coffee.
2nd St Bake Shop and Coffee. Hico, Texas
We found this place while driving through the area. It is not near to any major cities, but if you are in the area, it is definitely worth a stop. There were so many drink and food options here. They make all of their pastries in house and have a large variety. I got a cold brew that was good. The worker was super nice. The shop is an old refurbished house with wonderful charm. The entire downstairs of the house is set up as various sitting rooms with large tables and comfy chairs for hanging out with your coffee and snacks. This would be the perfect place to meet a friend for coffee or hang out working for the day.
The Railcar Coffee and Spirits. Fort Worth, Texas
This lovely coffee shop is located at the Fort Worth Stockyards and definitely the best one in the area. They have many drink options and lots of seats if you want to hang out for a bit. I got a normal cold brew which was good. They had many different milk options to add to my coffee. The lady working was super sweet when I was there and I felt very welcome there. I really liked the vibe of this place. It is good coffee in a very convenient location.
Niche Coffee. San Antonio, Texas
Drink: Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Latte
We stopped here on our way out of San Antonio, Texas. Niche Coffee is a little coffee trailer, close to the interstate entrance … I was happily surprised with my experience here. I wasn’t expecting much, but the drink I had here was one of the best lattes I have every had in my life. I got the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie latte and it was scrumptious. It was made with oat milk and had several different ingredients, but it was truly like you had put an oatmeal cookie into a rich, creamy, warm drink. They have many different drink and pastry options.
Gruene Coffee Haus. Gruene, Texas
Drink: Texas Pecan Cold Brew
We happened upon this coffee shop while we were in the town of Gruene, Texas and, boy I’m sure glad we did. It was the cutest coffee shop and had so many good-looking drinks and pastries. I got their Texas Pecan Cold Brew which was some of the best cold brew I have ever had. It was so good and the prices were super good. We also tried their cookies while we were there and they were also super good. There were some seating options there, clean bathrooms, and funny décor on the walls.
