The day after Christmas Luca and I left West Virginia to head overseas to spend time with his family. After spending a few days in Italy, we drove to Slovenia for New Year’s Celebrations. Slovenia borders Italy’s west side, sitting under Austria and above Croatia. Geographically, it’s about a third the size of West Virginia, but holds twice the population. It is the youngest country in Europe, being under Yugoslavian communist reign until around the year 1990. Despite being a small and not commonly thought-of country in Europe, it is a magnificent place full of many beautiful sights and interesting things to do.
Our time in Slovenia was fantastic. It is an absolutely beautiful country that is a “hidden gem” of Europe. We had a great time seeing all that Slovenia had to offer, but more importantly spending time all together. I am so thankful for these opportunities to travel that God has given to me.
